Sunni's religion and religious practices
religion
Sunnis are islamic which makes them muslims. Most muslims are Sunnis. They believed that the prophet muhammad was the messanger of Allah. All their historical and religious recordings are in a book called the Quran (in the picture above). The islamic law offers four schools of law, each school will have an affect on legal decisions and different sayings toward the prophet and his followers. Overall, these schools are guidelines to their religion.
religious practices
The Sunnis live their lives in a certain way. They are expected to live towards the five pillars of Islam. The five pillars are (1) Shahada, (2) Salat, (3) Zakat, (4) Sawm, and (5) Hajj. The first pillar of Islam ( Shahada) is the recital of creed. They believe there is no God, but they do believe in the prophet Muhammad and Allah. The second pillar of Islam (Salat) is five obligatory prayers in a day. The Third pillar of Islam (Zakat) is giving alms to the poor. The fourth pillar of Islam (Sawm) is fasting from sunrise to sunset during the month of Ramadan. The Fifth pillar (Hajj) is making the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during their lifetime once they are financially and physically able.
